Some thoughts, verses....

A few thoughts, verses, passages... stuff on my heart ... things God is teaching me and speaking to me about recently . . .

Come boldly to the throne of Christ Jesus, where grace abounds!!

"Our responsibility is to let people see God through us."

Mark 11:22-24 "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

I cannot forsee/predict the exact day that I'll travel to Guatemala to pick up Connor. But I do know that God knows all about that day, he's planned it all in advance for me, and I know it'll be a much more amazing day because God is behind it all planning & perfecting every detail of that day. As much as I would love to have my baby home, I know if I were to have been given the choice, it would've been longggg ago... months ago... maybe very soon after seeing his pictures of when he was born. But this time has been and is about God testing my faith, perseverance, will... I always go back to this: I KNOW HE WILL NOT GIVE ME MORE THAN I CAN BEAR!!

The honest truth is that a lot of times, it is difficult to face people and look them in the eye and say "I just do not know when he'll come home." The honest truth is that it brings me straight to some massive tears -- Connor not being here and then going to work every day not knowing who will be the next person to throw out that infamous question about the "when?" and "why?" To understand everything in life would mean you possess all knowledge and have the ability to walk through life without a thought, knowing what's ahead, dodging things you would just love to avoid (hurts, pain, sorrow, grief, death) and heading for things that bring smiley faces, laughs, ease. But life isn't like that. Sometimes we have to walk through the pain, tears or hurts to get to the joy, peace, comfort. There's a song (can't remember who sings it or the name of it) that part of it goes, "I will walk through the valley if You want me to." We'll not always be on the top of the mountain, viewing all the wonderful things there are to see from way up there, the fresh air, the soft clouds. Darn those times in our lives when we go through the valleys (hurts, tears, struggles).. but we learn all God desires to teach us & where He molds us -- in that valley, so we can soak it all in from the Almighty, then move upward with boldness, courage, confidence, assurance.. toward the goal.. the peak... yeah, we'll sometimes take a few steps back, but only so that we can relearn something that may have slipped our mind.

Spanish Lesson

Last night was my 1st private Spanish lesson! I'm soooo excited to start learning Spanish! A friend of mine (who went on the Guatemala mission trip) and I are taking these lessons together from a lady at church who speaks it fluently. It was fun! I have CDs and worksheets and starting next week, she'll be giving us homework... Oooooo! hahaha! I thought I was done with school... but no, it's neat. This will be nice to learn the language in order to keep Connor speaking at least some of his own language as well as English. It'll take years of practice & memorization for me to speak fluently but I look forward to it. It'll give me something to do while I wait as well because this wait, honestly -- SUCKS! So learning Spanish gives me a sense of connecting with Connor's culture & heritage while I wait for him .

Keep the prayers comin' ya'll! I love each & every one of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HILARIOUS!!!

So my Mom has a daycare and one of the little boys, Joe (4yrs old), had the following (HILARIOUS!) conversation with his Mom last night and his Mom then relayed this to my Mom. NOTE: Alyssa is a 1yr old baby but no longer comes to daycare.

Joe's Mom: So is Alyssa not at daycare anymore?

Joe: Nope.

Joe's Mom: Why not?

Joe: Because Cindy's going to have Connor.

Joe's Mom: Who's Connor?

Joe: That's the baby that Sara is adopting!

Joe's Mom: Oh yeah, I've been wondering how that's been going... how's he going to come here?

Joe: He's coming in a box, but the box won't have a lid on it.

==============

HOW FUNNY IS THAT???? HAHAHA!!! It's hilarious how kids perceive or think things occur/happen when they don't really know for sure so they just figure this must be it. We'll have many more conversations about adoption, it's obvious the daycare kids need to have more dialogue about this.. haha.. get things straight... It just cracked me up how he told his mom this.. . haha... we'll have to plan an adoption day to talk all about adoption.

Watching a TV show

I was just watching an episode of A Baby Story, where the family was in the process of adopting a baby from Korea! I love catching these episodes on adoption, they're so inspiring and I love to dream of that day when I meet Connor for the first time. Many of my family & friends have also wondered what it'll be like for me.

I cannot wait for that day! After all of the pictures and videos and medical updates, numbers. . . I'll see that face, that smile, the drool... all of him... and just cry. It will be a good cry, tears of JOY, love, anticipation! I know all of this time spent waiting, the questions, uncertainty, paperwork, and more waiting. . . it will all fade away and become a distant memory once he's in my arms forever! I know the plane ride there will be fine and everything won't really hit me until my Mom & I are actually there, checking into the hotel, then standing in the lobby of the hotel on the day the attorney walks in with him, hands him to me and I know the second I lay eyes on him I'll be hooked, in love at first sight! I so much look forward to holding him, seeing him. . . then I'll know that there will be no more waiting, no more stalking the phone and email waiting for news... just be able to start our life together as a family.

Possibility of buying a house

YAY!!! Everything is underway to move toward buying this little house I found, a complete God thing!! He's laid it all out perfectly, nicely... the financing on it was BETTER than I expected and am soooo incredibly excited!!! This house is just a block away from my parents, so Connor & I will be close to them, which I wanted. I'm just speechless.. . . the tiny details have all panned out and everything has been falling into place. I couldn't have done it or planned it any better, only through God has all of this happened!! I'm floored, in awe!!!
