Feeling better

I took Connor to see the doctor last night because Monday he started pulling and rubbing his right ear while he was with my Mom, while I worked. So he, in fact, does have an ear infection! POOR BABY!!! He woke up through the night last night, screaming... we've regressed a little bit, back on the bottle since he's been sick and in my bed in the middle of the night. I just cannot stand to put him back in the crib, simply because he's sick and needs to be near Mommy right now. Awwwwww!!! He's doing okay today though. Got his Amoxicillin filled, gave him the 1st dose before nap. He's still a little ouchy... fussy... but that's understandable.. I get ouchy & grouchy when I'm sick too Love you all!!!! God bless!!!

Switching doctors & misc

**NOTE: The picture I attached is the hospital in Guatemala where Connor was born! Just thought it'd be an interesting picture to share with you all**

Anyhow.... just a quick update... we're doing well! I've been fighting off a cold for like 2 months and it's worsened over the past week or so, now it's just nasty! EWWW!! The phlegm is just gross... it's always been my weakness in nursing... ICCKKK!! For some reason, I can tolerate blood, guts, vomit... but phlegm just makes me GAG! haha! So it's getting better, Thank the Lord!!! I do have these painful cold sores, but they are also improving. :) I think Connor may have, unfortunately, picked up a touch of this cold from me... but his isn't bad. He has an occasional cough, but other than that is hanging in there, doing fine! He'll be 17 months old tomorrow!!! WHOA!!! He's getting so big, so smart! My Mom weighed him on their scale and she said he weighed 21.5 lbs!! GO CONNOR!! Not quite the 5 lb gain that the doctor wanted to see, but who cares! The boy is healthy & active and I'm very happy to see him gain 2 lbs! At 15 months, he was just shy of 20 lbs.. something like 19.7 lbs.. so I'd count this as good!

We'll be switching doctors coming up at his 18 month check-up, which really didn't even need to happen as I found this out from the new doc's office when I called to switch him over there... this will be an actual Pediatrician as opposed to the Gen Family Practice doctor I had him at from the time he came home. I have no problem with Family Practice docs, but he gave me the run-around alot, felt like he was blowing me off, didn't want to answer my questions.. so here we go to a Ped doc! YAY! I believe it will be better there, also that a Pediatrician sees ONLY children, no adults.. not to discredit a Family doc that they don't see kids, but less of them.. either way... Connor's so used to doctors, he's just a champ when it comes to them looking in his ears, eyes, nose, mouth, listening to his heart & lungs... he just sits so quietly. :)

He continues to talk up a storm.. of course, only us who are with him directly the majority of the time (myself, Grandparents, Tia, Tio) can decipher what he's really saying... but it's too cute! Also noticed that alot of things are "Nana" to him... he'll says Nana when pointing to his cup, or to Tia... hahaha.. we'll always be like "No, that's Tia, not Nana." It's quite comical though... he just laughs. ;)

Well that's about it for now... God bless!!! ***Prayers for a new job for me***

Both of us are sick...

.. but we're getting better, slowly... but better nonetheless! We're not going out, just hanging around the house not doing a whole lot. I don't have much energy to do much from being sick... but Connor is still up & playing, laughing... I play with him as well, but not like I normally would. He was playing so quietly this morning, the picture indicates where I found him.. sitting in his toy box, just playing so nicely. HAHAHAHAHA! TOO FUNNY!! He stayed in there for like 20 minutes just playing, then got out. Pray we both feel better soon. He's not been eating as much as he normally does, but that's natural with being sick... but he's drinking and peeing, which is good.. and still the same goofy, giggly boy! :D I'm not too worried about him, he'll be just fine once he gets over this cough. I'm just feeling BLAH, coughing, hacking, headache, sore throat, chills... but overall feel okay. Yesterday I had some nausea throughout the day and wasn't eating much then was able to eat dinner okay and again this morning, no more nausea. So I am getting better, it's just a matter of getting past this junk! Love you all!!!!! God bless!!!

Update

I haven't posted in a while, just been busy with work, Connor, family, etc... but everything is going well. Connor is 16 1/2 months old now and doing really well, getting big, talking ALOT!! He's too funny!!! He just amazes me that almost daily, he has a new word to share, to add to his vocabulary! WOW!!!! So here's a somewhat compiled summary:"See ah" (See ya!), "Hi!", Bye, Nana (Grandma), Papa (Grandpa - used to call him Dada), "Ga-ee" (Gavin, his cousin), Tia (Aunt in Spanish), Mum and Mama (interchangably), Ya!, "Ma" or "Na" (milk), "Bye-ba" (Bible), "Jee-uh" (Jesus), "Ga" (God), "Ca-Cuh" (cracker), "Cuh" (cup), "Stink", "Gone", "Nye-Nye" (night, night)... and the most recent (today!) --- "COOL!" OH MY GOSH!!!! He just cracks me up!! TOO FUNNY!!!!

He's still sleeping through the night... guess there's no need for his sleeper that says "Warning: May cause sleepless nights." I started out, from the time he came home, sitting in the rocking chair directly next to his crib until he was asleep then tip-toe out of the room because he needed me to be close. At this point, he knows for certain that Mommy is not going anywhere, will always come back for him and am always closeby, so about a week or so ago I had a "heart to heart" talk with him about the fact that he's getting to be a big boy (AHHH!), how brave he is, and told him that Mommy was going to start putting him to bed in his "big boy crib" (how cool it is!) and will be just across the hall closeby all night and will come get him out in the morning. He cried for only 15 minutes the first night, 2 minutes the second night then maybe one wimper after that and fast asleep he'd go. He's doing so well with this transition! He barely fusses anymore, as we've kept the very same bedtime rountine with brushing teeth, Bible stories, praying then hugs, kisses and in the crib for Nye-Nye. Awwwwww!!!

He's a very healthy boy! He has yet to be sick, barely at all.. a sniffle here & there, but nothing lasting more than a day, very on & off... has a runny nose sometimes but it's the season, weather changes so much.. almost expected to have a runny nose for a little one. His lungs are clear, no wheezing or anything. Right now he's working on a tooth coming through so he gets a little warm sometimes and is a bit more fussy but he doesn't get super agitated over it... he'll rub his mouth periodically so Tylenol in and off he goes to play.

ALSO -- A few awesome praises!!!! My Dad is doing GREAT GREAT!! He's back to work, went back just after Christmas, back to 10hr days 6 days a week but doing fine. He's recovered remarkably wonderfully from the surgery! Soon he'll go for (or maybe has also gone for it) a repeat PSA level. We continue to pray healing over him as God sees him through this stage of being diagnosed with cancer, then having the prostate removed. He's just doing AWESOME though! God is SO GREAT! Secondly, close friends of mine just brought home their 3 wonderful children from Liberia through adoption! They are adjusting well and fit right into their family! This makes 8 children in the family now! They are a wonderfully blessed, warm, loving family!! Praise the Lord for bringing these children home to their forever family!!

No clue what that means, but ya know... he knows and that's all that matters! Notice the pose.. HAHA! TOO CUTE! I call Connor & Gavin "my two wonderful boys"!!!

1st sight of snow!

Our 1st snow in Michigan (and Connor's 1st sight of snow ever) and we woke up, I open the blinds on the front window.... and had Connor go over to see the snow! He was thrilled!!! This picture is just precious... you can see the fog from around his little hand on the cold window... LOVE this one! Enjoy!!
