Thoughts & Quotes

Just a few quotes that I love!! :) Enjoy!

"We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life. But those who make their journey home across time and miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us by God's very own hands" ~Kristin Larson

"God's will is that we trust Him, that we come to Him and that we rely on Him instead of a substitute." ((in my devotional))

Good = exactly right for the purposes intended.

Mark 9:37 "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me."

Guatemala program!

So the adoption coordinator called today and told me all about the Guatemala program. It was so cool!! :) So she told me all about the support groups in the area, which is neat. There are a few right in Battle Creek. There's one that is a playgroup that is for Adoptive Families and their adopted children to get together, so that will be nice. Also, I will be attending what's called Parent Training. It's more of a meeting to go over issues (not a good word for it) that are specific to adoption, as opposed to natural childbirth. Things like bonding & attachment and other things that any adoptive parent needs to be educated on before traveling to pick up their child.

Application approved!!

So I'd prayed over this formal application, sent it out and haven't heard anything in response from the agency. I was so tempted over the weekend, to call and find out, but decided I'd be better to just trust and wait and pray. So this morning, I broke down and called the agency's adoption coordinator, left a message on her voicemail as she is often out of the office doing homestudies, etc. I was at work, so I checked my cellphone voicemail and nothing.

When I got home from work tonight, there it was... an email from her! At almost 1am, I read this email from her telling me that she'd reviewed my application and "everything looks good"!!! All I needed to do was get a letter from my doctor and off we go to getting my homestudy scheduled, and that she'd call me tomorrow to talk more about Guatemala!!! :) I was soooo excited! I was jumping up and down and wanted sooo much to scream at the top of my lungs (in an apartment building.. not such a good idea haha).

AND -- today's my Dad's birthday!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!! Love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Parenting

"There's no way to be a perfect parent, but there are a million ways to be a good one."

That is a great name!

So I was at work and a co-worker started asking about the adoption process. So as I started telling her, suddenly it came out so naturally the name "Connor."

I've had a list of names for quite a long while. Actually this small 2x2" piece of paper has kept its place in a certain place in my Bible for many years, since God put adoption on my heart.

And now the decision is made... his name will be Connor. I will keep his birth name as a middle name, along with my Dad's name, Fred. :)

Formal application is complete and sent in! WooHoo!!!

This past week, I started to get nervous about sending in this formal application. Immediately, I started to pray over that and claim peace in Jesus' Name! I started reading and read Philippians 4:6-7... "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." And the peace came. For the two days before today, I was at peace and 100% ready to send it in without a shadow of a doubt! And so the journey begins... and waiting :)
